dc.description.abstract This study investigated basic school science teachers’ knowledge and use of improvised science instructional materials in the Pru West District. This study adopted a quantitative research approach using a cross-sectional survey design. One hundred and ninety participants were selected for the study using stratified random sampling. A Basic School Science Teacher’s Knowledge and Use of Improvised Science Instructional Materials Questionnaire (BSSTKUISIM), constructed by the researcher, was administered to the participants to collect data. Descriptive statistics in the form of mean and standard deviation were used to analyse the data. The findings of the research revealed that basic school science teachers have high knowledge of improvised science instructional materials. The researcher recommends that regular, meaningful, and hands-on mini workshops on improvisation techniques for basic school science teachers should be organised for basic school science teachers in the Pru West District to improve their skills and strategies in improvisation and usage of science instructional resources by Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and other stakeholders en_US
