| dc.description.abstract | Am effective and successful leadership is considered as the significant aspect in the educational environment. A leadership style is a leader’s method of providing direction, implementing plans, and motivating employees. There were many accurate leaderships skills in management of our educational institutions that were lacking in administrations, affecting the individual’s trait to achieve an organizational goal. With respect of the pedagogical aim of this dissertation, it investigated the relationship of effective leaders in the Senior High Schools. An assessment was adopted to make factsfindings about the contribution of school leadership to the teachers’ performance and students’ achievements that existed at that time. Samples were collected from the population of Kadjebi-Asato Senior High School. Questionnaire and interview were the research instruments used in collecting data as the effective part of the research investigation because it increases the validity and reliability of research findings. This study made used of both qualitative and quantitative (mixed method) approach for the presentation of the results. The Headmaster of the Senior High Schools along with their teams such as the Assistant Headmasters and certain teachers or administrative team holds the entire responsibility of enhancing the learning of the students not only inside the classrooms but outside also. The management possess an effective influence upon the students and the environment of the schools and act as role models that can be followed by teachers and students. The results of the analysis lead towards the conclusion that leadership practices that are applied by the headmaster and his team certain problematic areas were helpful for the students since it assists them achieving the high grades and it was also reflected in the satisfaction among the teachers by their responses in the questionnaire survey. The dissertation’s result asserts that the performance of the management effects upon the teachers and directly impacts on the achievement of students which helped them to improve their learning. In light of the findings, the dissertation recommended that the headmaster and his management team should devise clear and unambiguous purpose of the Kadjebi-Asato Senior High School and set priorities that will facilitate the educators and learners go be innovative and autonomous inside the defined boundaries. Also recommended for the management to facilitate the teachers and students with the plenty of resources that will allow then to take the constructive decision and present productive suggestion instead of pooling opinions. The management was again recommended that in order to exhibit the leadership behaviour, they should devise the common vision which is potential to address the needs of the educators and learners. Finally, the findings called for shift in our poor educational management into effective leadership. Making leadership relevant for our prerequisite, we must indeed strive to develop a new ideology for our educational management that will seek to answer questions like, “Effective leadership is about what?”, “Effective leadership for whom?”. | en_US |
