| dc.description.abstract | The study was conducted to determine the use of ICT in teaching and learning in Mpraeso Senior High Schools in the Kwahu South District. The study was guided by three research questions. The study was a descriptive survey and had a population of one hundred and seven respondents. The multi-stage sampling procedures were used to select the sample for the study. A questionnaire was developed to elicit information from the respondents. Validity and reliability of the instrument were ensured by making the instrument available to experts and the supervisor for scrutiny and the instrument pilot tested in Nkwatia Senior High School in the Kwahu East District. The data gathered were analysed using tables, frequencies, and percentages. The study revealed that the integration of ICT in the teaching makes the lesson more interesting. It was further revealed that ICT improves lesson presentation. It was noticeable from the study that the availability of ICT tools in teaching and learning was limited. The study revealed that most teachers have low knowledge of the use of ICT in teaching. It was further found that teachers have not been given adequate training in the use of ICT in teaching. The study recommends that the head of the schools should encourage the teachers in the schools to make appropriate use of ICT facilities in the teaching and learning process. The researcher further recommends that the Ministry of Education should make budgetary allocations annually to maintain, replace, and expand ICT facilities in the school. The Head of the school should intermittently organize in-service education and training on the use of ICT for the teachers in the school. | en_US |
