dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to assess customers’ perception and purchase intention of coco wood furniture. The study was guided by the following objectives; to evaluate customer’s perception of coco wood furniture with respect to functionality and aesthetics. To identify the environmentally friendliness of coco wood chair and their satisfaction with customers. To evaluate customers purchase intention of coco wood furniture. The study was done by research and analysis for designer’s consideration factors such as durability, function, aesthetics, environmentally friendliness, and purchase intention. A descriptive quantitative research method was used. Primary data was collected using a five scale Likert questionnaire. The questionnaire was distributed to the 2018 Sandwich and Distance students of the University of Education, Winneba Kumasi Campus. Data submitted through questionnaire was entered into Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS v 21) statistical software and analyzed for descriptive statistics. Sampling technique was used to select a population sample from the entire University student’s population. Descriptive statistics was used to analyze data. Tables were used in rating the data to establish the relationship between variables. The research found out that the durability, function, aesthetics, environmentally friendliness, and purchase intention of the coco wood chair have positively influenced on the respondents comment. The study therefore further recommends that the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts and other stakeholders should encourage the nation’s TVET institution and wood workers in the coastal towns to harvest, process and use the over-aged coconut trees for furniture and other related use in other to contribute to the conservation of the forest. en_US
