dc.description.abstract The study analyses the difficulties encountered by learners of French at T.I Ahmadiyya Senior High School, Wa in the use of preposition « à » in writing. The point of departure of the study is that most of the learners should be able to read texts in French and construct simple sentences with the preposition. It was discovered learners of aforementioned school had difficulties in the usage of prepositions during reading and writing. Analysis of collected data through test item and questionnaire in connection with learners’ performances confirmed that most of the difficulties were as a result of the influence of the English language as well as the inappropriate teaching and learning methods used by teachers. As a result, the study has therefore identified some methods of intervention to be put in place to remedy the situation. These include using a much more convenient approach in teaching and learning. Finally, engaging the students more with activities such as tests, and quizzes associated with the use of the preposition « à » en_US
