dc.description.abstract This write up highlights the investigation of the problems the Shia Senior High Technical School students at Ho in the Volta Region encounter in the use of English grammatical concord. The purpose of the study was to identify concord problems. It had been noticed that the F2 C students of this school have a peculiar problem with the use of the English Language due to the challenges they have with the concord, or the grammar of the language. To find the root of these causes, students’ grammar exercises and essay scripts had been checked and the various types of concord errors identified in them were scrutinized. In their essay scripts and exercises, it was found that the errors committed were directly related to some grammatical features of the students’ mother tongue, teachers’ method of teaching and, lack of motivation of the students. In conclusion, it was realised that the learning of concord in Shia Senior High Technical School will improve if teachers are guided by the solutions arrived at by this researcher as they assist students to overcome their challenges. en_US
