Effect of management information system in the service delivery (a case study of university of education winneba, Kumasi campus)
Nrumah, S.A.
The aim of the research was to assess the effect of management information system in
the service delivery with emphasizes on the health information system at the Kumasi
campus clinic of the University of Education Winneba. The study sought to achieve its
purpose through three objectives by examining the implementation and use, factors
enabling or constraining the implementation and use and impact of the implementation
and use of health information system on service delivery by the University of Education
Winneba, Kumasi campus clinic among both staff and students. The study sought to
measure its objectives by adopting a quantitative and qualitative approach with a cross sectional exploratory design by gathering data through the use of questionnaire from a
sample size of 30 respondents (5 clinic staff, 5 other university staff and 20 students).
The data was analysed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software
and Microsoft Excel. The overview of the main results disclosed that the HIS
(MEDREC) is used by all students and staff of the university, with documents being
fully maintained using HIS and almost all respondents recognized wanting to continue
using MEDREC. The key findings indicated that, management benefits a lot from the
HIS through quality of patients’ records, attending to patients simultaneously, quality
requisitions, faster and easier booking of appointment, no discrimination, reduction in
waiting time and avoidance of harmful delays, respectful and responsive healthcare,
end user satisfaction of the system among others. The HIS is however burdened with
problem of procurement of the hardware infrastructure, end user inability, billing
issues, redundancy issues, waiting time and missing data/information issues. The
research therefore concludes that the university should support and sustain the HIS and
that concrete measures should be taken to curb evolving difficulties faced by the use of
the HIS.

Assess the training needs of informal motor vehicle garages
Offei, D.I.
The study seeks to assess the training needs of IMVGs for enhancement and development of the sector as strategies of improving garages efficiency and effectiveness. Therefore, this study was considered as a step towards theory building relating to garages TNA in Ghana. The population for study consists of all garages owners/managers and potential drivers that deal with repairs and servicing of petrol and diesel engines in motor vehicle garages in the Tamale Metropolis. A purposive sample were used to select 100 garages managers and senior mechanics and simple random sampling technique were used to select 100 drivers for the purpose of the results of the study showed that knowledge and skills of vehicle master craft men, correlates very well among variables, which ranges between 0.846 and 0.294. The study also showed that customer relations with garage managers, customers trust for garage mechanics is quite good with the mean score between 3.34 to 4.65 with correlations ranging between 0.799 and 0.412. These values show very good correlations. On quality (customer satisfaction) service of informal motor vehicle garages, the mean score of each variable is shown between 3.18 to 3.58. Most of the correlations are good, 0.75 and very few are low, 0.020. Also, results established that customer are satisfied with motor vehicle garages in TaMA, with a mean score of each variable is shown ranges from 3.31 to 3.69. This correlation shows very good accord ranging between 0.83 and 0.35 with a very good KMO value of .912. In future study into this area should be aimed at establishing the courses and effects of the few customer dissatisfactions. This will go a long way to help chatter sustainable strategies for this important informal sector of our economy.

College students’ interest in programming the effect of project work, tutorials, accessibility of resources on the internet and students’ perception
Atta, I.A.
Robots, artificial intelligence, bitcoins, block chain, IoT (Internet of Things), and Cloud
Computing are innovation of technologies that solve problems in the world and are
backed by programming. Learning of programing has become relevant in Ghanaian
schools where students are expected to develop interest and equip themselves with
knowledge and skills in programming. The study sought to determine the effects of
project work, tutorials, and accessibility of resources on the internet on the perception
of students towards their interest in computer programming. The study used a
descriptive survey design. The population for the study was 8,420 with 368 as a sample
size. A stratified random sampling technique was used for sampling participants for the
study and a purposive sampling technique was used to select three public universities
in Ghana. The researcher used a questionnaire to gather the data for studying the issue
under investigation. Analysis of the data was done through the use of the SPSS and
PROCESS Macro. Data collected from the respondents were analysed using both
inferential statistics and descriptive statistics. The study found that students' perception
of programming at the university was higher which enhanced their interest in
programming. The study revealed that there was a direct significant effect of project
work on students' perception of programming. The study revealed that there was a direct
significant impact of accessibility of resources from the internet on students' perception
of programming. The study revealed that there was a direct significant effect of tutorials
on students' perception of programming. The study concluded that there was a direct
significant mediating effect of students' perception of programming on the relationship
between the accessibility of resources from the internet and college students' interest in
programming.

Application of Information Technology in school administration in Public Senior High Technical schools in Upper West Region, Ghana

Application of Information Technology in school administration in Public Senior High Technical schools in Upper West Region, Ghana
Gyiele, V. B.
The study seeks to examine the application of Information Technology in the
administration of public senior high/technical schools in Upper West Region. The
objectives of the study sought to examine how school administrators apply information
technology in human resource administration, physical resource administration,
financial resource administration and also to examine the challenges facing school
administrators in the application of information technology in school administration in
public senior high/technical schools in Upper West Region. A survey research design
was used to conduct the study. The targeted population consist of administrators of
public senior high/technical schools in Upper West (36 schools). The sample size was
twenty schools (n=20) with each school having 6 participants. This brings the total
sample size to one hundred and twenty (n=120). A simple random sampling procedure
were adopted. Questionnaires were used to collect the data. The collected data were
analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. From the analysis, the
following conclusions were made: Most public senior high/technical schools have
adopted the use of information technology as a good tool in their day-to-day operations,
in the area of human resource administration, IT is applied in monitoring staff
attendance, keeping of personal records of both staff and students, e-learning, training
of teachers in basic application as students’ reports, enrolling students during
admission. It is also used in financial administration of schools and many others. These
were however not without challenges. These challenges have hindered the effective
application of IT in school administration. They include lack of IT personnel,
inadequate funds, lack of/inadequate computers and lack of backup power supply.
